Plato’s Academy
Plato’s Academy is the clinical training and research arm of ShieldMee Inc. We train therapists to work with the populations everyone else refers out — treatment-resistant cases, dual diagnosis, forensic evaluations, Cluster B presentations, and family systems entangled across generations. If you’re looking for a supervision experience that challenges you instead of just counting your hours, you’re in the right place.

Most supervision teaches clinicians to follow protocols. We teach clinicians to think. The Socratic method isn’t a technique we use — it’s the operating system. Every supervision session, every clinical framework, every assessment we develop starts with a question the clinician hasn’t been asked before.
We draw on Adlerian psychology, Bowen Family Systems Theory, Gottman Method, psycholinguistic research, and the criminal personality framework of Yochelson and Samenow. Not as a theoretical buffet, but as an integrated clinical lens. The clinicians who train here don’t leave with a certificate. They leave with a fundamentally different way of listening.
What We’re Building
The Latitude Assessment
A novel psychometric instrument that measures functional mobility — how many directions a person can actually move in their life right now. Based on the ADDRESSING framework (Hays, 1996), reframed from cultural identity to degrees of freedom. Currently in Phase 2 development. The first instrument of its kind.
Clinical Language Profiling (CLP)
An AI-driven methodology for analyzing therapeutic conversations in real time. CLP tracks linguistic patterns — avoidance markers, emotional leakage, narrative structures — to predict treatment outcomes and guide intervention. Validated through analysis of 200+ clinical transcripts. Endorsed by Dr. James Pennebaker.
Longitudinal Moral Development Study
A proposed 10-year qualitative study examining moral reflection and development in incarcerated populations through the integrated lens of Kohlberg’s moral development theory, Yochelson and Samenow’s criminal personality framework, and Hays’ ADDRESSING model. In design phase.
